PENINSULA PRIDE'S DODGE BALL ON THE BEACH 3
This was a 17 team tournament with over 150 people competing. The teams were made up of local residents, businesses, friends and friends of friends. As always this is only by invitation. The weather was in the mid 70s and it continued to go up hill from there. Take a look at the OC Register who covered the tournament. The article will come out on May 22nd in the sports section. In addition, they created a very entertaining video: This has been referred to as the "one of the most entertaining events to hit the peninsula." Even though it was a day of fun, there was still some fierce competition. The day ended with trophies and plaques but a good time for everyone. This year all of the teams that placed were right here from the peninsula. The standings were: Blue Beet (1st) Rudy's (2nd) Balboa Fitness (3rd) The Public Defenders (team of all attorneys) came in fourth. Dirty Fifth Street AKA Team Black Out won the best team outfit while Rashid West was the tournament MVP. All participants are thankful of the sponsorship of Fry's Market, Mikasa, Paper Jungle Printing and Tustin Awards. Thanks to the Stan, Brian and Victoria for all of their help with preparing for the tournament. Of course, special thanks to Christy and Todd for everything they do (too much to name). The referees had the hardest job of the day and everyone appreciates that. ![]()
